The short version
We don't collect personal information. Flipside has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and this website doesn't use cookies.
Information that stays on your device
To work, the Flipside app saves a few things only on your device:
- your place in each deck and which cards you've seen
- your settings, like sound, haptics, text size and appearance
- the player names you type into Keep Score
- a record of which packs you own, so they work offline
We can't see any of this, and it isn't sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it.
Purchases
Flipside is free to download and includes free trivia packs. More packs are sold as one-time in-app purchases. Apple (on the App Store) or Google (on Google Play) processes every payment. We never see your name, payment card, Apple ID or Google account, and their handling of your payment information is covered by their own privacy policies.
To confirm which packs you've bought, and to restore them on a new device, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. When you buy or restore, RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt from the store and a random identifier created by the app. That identifier isn't your name, email, store account or a device advertising identifier. RevenueCat uses it to check that purchases are valid and to give us anonymous sales reports. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
We don't use this information to identify you, and we never sell it or share it for advertising.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple or Google may send us anonymous crash reports. You can change this in your device's privacy settings at any time. Flipside doesn't include any crash-reporting or analytics software of its own.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no ads. This site doesn't track you or build a profile of you.
- Our fonts are hosted here, so your browser doesn't contact any font or advertising service.
- The web demo on the Play page saves nothing. Scores and player names disappear when you leave the page.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, it processes standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
- Email. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and help you.
Children
Flipside is made to be fun for all ages. Because the app doesn't collect personal information, we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Purchases go through Apple or Google, which offer parental controls such as Ask to Buy and purchase approvals.
Your choices
You can delete everything Flipside stores on your device by deleting the app. If you'd like us to remove the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat, email us from the address below and we'll take care of it (you can restore your purchases later through the store).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for meaningful changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
